Autism and Developmental Disability Treatment Center to Celebrate Opening of New Facility with Open House on April 22, 2006
Caledonia, MI (PRWEB) April 9, 2006 -- Horizons Developmental Remediation Center will hold an open house at their new facility on Saturday, April 22 from noon to 4:00 PM. Founded in 2003, Horizons provides premier autism and developmental disability treatment services to families throughout the United States and abroad. The center moved to the larger Caledonia location in August 2005. An open house is being held to allow families and professionals from the community to explore the facility, meet the staff, and learn more about treatments offered at the center.
The mission of the Horizons Center is to empower parents to achieve great things with their children. Staff members work with parents to develop a balanced treatment plan for their child. Programs are family-centered and designed to provide parents with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure a high quality of life for their children both now and in the future.
Horizons offers comprehensive treatment options, which allow families to receive necessary services in one location. The Relationship Development Intervention (RDI®) consultation program is utilized to treat the core deficits of autism and related impairments. Other available services include home consultation, speech therapy, occupational therapy, tutoring, and summer camps.
“The open house will allow people in the West Michigan community to learn more about the possibilities for people with autism and related impairments,” said Nicole Beurkens, Director of the center. “We want to spread the message that parents can facilitate change in their child while building and maintaining a full and rewarding family life.”
